There is a black straw band at the back to hold the hat in place. At the top there is a gorgeous black ostrich feather puff, pls a bouquet of blue fabric flowers.
Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these.
