1930s tilt hat - Gem。This is truly an amazing and rare hat made of tan felt. The small, round crown is flat at the top and trimmed with beautiful gold studs. The brim is pinched at the back, securing an elegant brown ostrich feather. The brim is turned up at the sides and turned down at the front. There is a narrow felt band around the crown with one studded end visible on top of the brim\'s front. 2 grosgrain bands are attached inside of the hat with an \"O\" elastic ring to keep the hat in a tilted position. This is such a unique and rare hat! ‘Toy’ or ‘Doll’ hat was a very small hat that perched on the very front of the forehead. hats were only in fashion a short time, so each hat is highly sought after. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these.
